Excited to Share | Upcoming Wexner Glimcher Lecture

It is with both excitement and disbelief that I share this week, Wednesday, February 17, 2021 I will be this years invited speaker of the prestigious Wexner Glimcher Lecture series. The importance of speaking about design justice and how injustices can be dismantled in the profession and in the built environment has placed me in the ranks of some pretty incredible architects.

The DeeDee and Herb Glimcher Program Fund support presentations by distinguished speakers in the fields of art, architecture, and design. Past speakers include Zaha Hadid (2004), Walter Hood (2005), Thom Mayne (2007), Alex McDowell (2009), David Adjaye (2010), Elizabeth Diller (2011), Steven Holl (2013), Robert A.M. Stern (2016), and Jeanne Gang (2019) and now me!

It makes me wonder whose voices were missing from those rooms.

Seeing your name beside Zaha Hadid and Elizabeth Diller shows how much the architecture conversation has opened up, and that feels like a win for all of us who care about justice in the built environment.
Being invited to give the Wexner Glimcher Lecture must feel surreal, especially after years of work that led to that moment.

Congrats on being invited to speak alongside legends like Zaha Hadid! It's awesome to see design justice getting the spotlight it deserves. By the way, I also use a tool to split image in 2 parts for social posts - it's super handy for side-by-side comparisons.
