Excited to Share | Three SAY IT LOUD Exhibitions in November

Updated: Aug 25, 2019

I'm truly proud to share that we at Beyond the Built Environment are organizing 3 exhibitions in November 2019.

Beyond the Built Environment, elevates the identities and contributions of women and diverse designers in the field of architecture through exhibitions, curated lectures, and documentaries that testify to the provided value of their built work and its spatial impact.

The exhibition's quality depends on the content that is submitted. I'm sincerely asking for your help to please spread the word with your network.

Deadline 9/29!  Submit today.

We are typically invited by local community organizations or stakeholders to host an exhibition and supporting programming to help raise the visibility of the women and diverse designers of their community. We identify a location and their availabilities establishes the dates of the exhibition. We then launch a SAY IT LOUD webpage that is distributed to their local design community. This web portal gathers all necessary documents, ensures quality and complete submissions for review.

The submissions include: headshots, bios, a featured project and supporting images. The submissions are then evaluated and the exhibition is curated. To communicate their experience as a diverse designer, we also capture video testimonials of their experience and journey in the profession.

Once the exhibition is design and installed the venue and collaborating organization work on various related programming to engage the community frequently and creatively engaging with all age groups.

The goal of Beyond the Built Environment is to host exhibitions in community art centers and in places who lack the financial means to host an exhibition without local sponsorship. With your aid we aspire to make SAY IT LOUD activate accessible to all communities, especially in locations where local leaders do not see the immense value in an exhibition celebrating diversity.

After the exhibition, we create a web page for each SAY IT LOUD activation. The featured designers are added to our Great Diverse Designers Library we have collected over 90 profiles thus far and is a powerful resource for education and publication. We have an ultimate goal of publishing a Great Diverse Designers textbook.
