VARUNPREET SINGH
Bio:
Varunpreet Singh is a great architect, designer and an urban planner with over a decade of experience shaping residential and mixed-use developments across Ontario. He bridges design with the practical realities of zoning, feasibility, and approvals, bringing a developer-minded approach to every project. His work spans high-rise residential towers, mixed-use developments, and senior living communities across the GTA and Northern Ontario. Varunpreet is a licensed member of the Ontario Association of Architects.
How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
I'm from Chandigarh, Punjab, a city designed by Le Corbusier at the foot of the Himalayas. Though not consciously, the early seeds of design thinking were sown young, celebrating Corbusier's architecture in and around the city.
What do you do?
I'm an architect, designer and an urban planner working on residential and mixed-use development projects. Depending on the day, I can wear different hats, sometimes leading design and planning, sometimes managing delivery.
What excites you in the work you do?
Solving the puzzle of zoning, feasibility, and design constraints, then seeing a building finally take shape on site, is what excites me.
Who or what inspires you professionally?
'm inspired by peers whose work advances sustainable, thoughtful design, and by seeing how they navigate challenges and grow in their careers.
What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?
Helping people on my team grow into architects and designers better than me is my proudest accomplishment. Watching someone surpass you is its own kind of achievement, one that matters more to me than any single project.
