Who or what inspires you professionally?
 
The Client is my inspiration. Listening to their stories and creating that relationship of trust is paramount. I want to be transparent and unbiased and educate during the process - I am driven to help them create spaces that reflect their vision.

TIARA WILLIAMS 

Bio:

With over 18 years of experience, the Great Designer, Tiara Williams, brings a unique blend of technical prowess and artistic flair to her projects. As a firm associate at BOUDREAUX, her drive extends beyond projects; she plays a pivotal role in guiding the firm's direction and mentoring emerging architects. Her project portfolio encompasses diverse sectors from new constructions to renovations. Her meticulous attention to detail shines on construction sites, where her responsive demeanor benefits everyone.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

Raised in a family of designers, I spent my childhood drawing and creating playing with my father's drafting tools and art supplies. Drawing, designing, and organizing have always been my passions.

What do you do?

I am a licensed Architect with 18 years experience, and serve as a firm Associate. In 2023 I helped found the South Carolina Chapter of NOMA serving as the first president

 

What excites you in the work you do?

I am passionate about the transformative impact of the built environment on people. Translating the clients vision into a space they love and fulfills their mission is so satisfying. I enjoy the process we go through with clients.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

Getting licensed and then discovering that I would be the third licensed African American female architect in South Carolina was amazing. and last year, I took on a leadership role at BOUDREAUX.

Featured Project Description:

Hamilton College was renovated to accommodate the growth of the College of Social Work. A new internal structure transforms the high volume of the historic gym into two levels of faculty offices, classrooms, conference space, computer labs and support spaces. A new addition features conference/board room spaces and connects to the two-story lobby entry. Originally built in 1941, Hamilton College sits on the University of South Carolina’s National Register Historic Horseshoe District.
