Who or what inspires you professionally?

It is extremely inspiring and satisfying in being able to impact everyone around you through life sciences facilities we design. I find purpose in making a difference in someone’s life.

Bio:

Tapati Bose AIA, LEED BD+C, Regional Architectural Lead is a pioneering leader known for her design solutions. She has a Bachelor’s from India & Master’s from TAMU, College Station with a Business Certification. Having been instrumental in projects that deliver vaccines, impactful medicines & therapies around the globe, she was recognized in top 50 women of influence in architecture by San Diego Business Journal (2022). She is the Executive Sponsor for the Racial Equity & Diversity group at CRB.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

I was influenced by my mom who was unable to continue her architectural career after starting a family. The stories she shared including being able to build a better life for the current & future generations via buildings cemented the future for me.

​

What do you do?

I lead CRB’s Western Regional architecture discipline providing strategic design leadership for projects in Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals and Science + Technology. I also serve as the Executive Sponsor for the Racial Equity & Diversity group at CRB.

​

What excites you in the work you do? 

Being part of the life sciences, which helps saves lives strikes a chord with me. Bringing the inspirational human element to technical spaces while designing buildings delights me.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

Getting licensed as an architect is one of my proudest achievements.

Featured Project Description:

Kite, a Gilead company, leveraged 67,000 square feet of unused space for its manufacturing facility. The architectural features, such as colors, patterns, and the use of glass to foster connectivity for employees are on display throughout the facility. The thoughtful sightlines bring in natural light and provides good viewability from the corridors. The design increased visibility between production and laboratory suites by adding viewing windows. This project is LEED Gold Certified.
