Bio:
Tan is an architect at the City of Melbourne. Also, he tutors at the University of Melbourne, teaching construction.
How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
I enrolled to study architecture based on a friend’s suggestion.
What do you do?
I am an architect, working in City Design at the City of Melbourne, a multidisciplinary practice of approximately 50 practitioners, with expertise in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, design review and industrial design.

Attributable to Southbank’s growing population, the library was experiencing increased demand. To address the deficiency, City Design proposed some alterations to redistribute floor area for the Childrens Library.
