Who or what inspires you professionally?

I look up to Zaha Hadid, she was a woman in an era of architecture that was predominantly male and being unique in her ways. We are in a great time of change, the wave of women being supported in workplace, leadership and home is unprecedented.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

I come from a refugee family and grew up with no career guidance. I was told to study hard at school and enrolled in Architecture. I always had an interest in crafting things, my mother was a machinist and taught me how to make garments from scratch.

What do you do?

I manage a team of talented architects to deliver Town Hall Station. It involves lots of meetings with the team, the client, the stakeholders and also engaging with my counterparts on the other stations.

What excites you in the work you do? Who or what inspires you professionally?

There are two aspects to what excites me in my work including working with the vast range of talented people and enabling these talents to bring out the best in design.

Who or what inspires you professionally? What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

I look up to Zaha Hadid, she was a woman in an era of architecture that was predominantly male and being unique in her ways. We are in a great time of change, the wave of women being supported in workplace, leadership and home is unprecedented.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

My family came to Australia with nothing but the clothes on our backs. I feel proud having come from nothing and now being able to lead a significant part of a city changing project, and my family life with 2 young children.
