Role in Featured Project:

Student Designer

Featured Project Description:

Degree is a student project featuring a residential building & sauna in Alaska. The design addresses the region's limited sunlight by using an illuminated polycarbonate facade allowing the interior sauna's warmth to radiate out, acting as an artificial sun. The style resembles snow-capped mountains, while the roof's slopes direct runoff to a bioswale creating an outdoor space & recycling water. A cavern slice allows precipitation to fall into a plunge pool, blurring lines between inside and out.
