Kirksey

SAY IT LOUD - TEXAS Exhibitor
Texas Based Designer

Who or what inspires you professionally?

I’m designing spaces where people spend a majority of their day, so it’s important to make sure their workplace is not only beautiful, but functions well and is a healthy environment to be in. I want their workplace to be inspiring for them.

STACEY CONCIENNE

Bio:

The great designer, Stacey is an Associate Vice President on the Interior Architecture Team at Kirksey. She’s been with Kirksey for 10 years and specializes in the management of complex interiors projects of all scales. She shares responsibilities for marketing, programming, schematic design, construction documentation and construction administration, providing excellent service for both clients and consultants.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

My mom was a home stager and decorator, so I was around plans and finishes at a very young age. I was always drawing up elaborate dream homes with bowling alleys & indoor swimming pools and building epic Lego creations that defied structural logic.

What do you do?

I do everything from helping to win work, space plan, to working with young architects on a complex detail. I mentor but also seek mentorship, I’m a proponent for challenging the status quo, and I aim to create a fun project experience.

What excites you in the work you do?

Taking on aspects of the field beyond design. Finding partnerships with industry folks who are the masters of their trade. Having people on your side who bring new ideas to the table which allows us to continuously elevate and evolve our own skills.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

I’m designing spaces where people spend a majority of their day, so it’s important to make sure their workplace is not only beautiful, but functions well and is a healthy environment to be in. I want their workplace to be inspiring for them.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

Working on the Motiva Conf Center because it elevated my design thinking & the idea that EVERYTHING on a project can be carefully thought about & coordinated from big design ideas to placement of life safety devices, taking design to the next level.
