STACEY BOYNTON

SAY IT LOUD - FLORIDA Exhibitor
Florida Based Designer

Who or what inspires you professionally?

Black Women Designers Inspire me! As black women, we sometimes have the weight of the world on our shoulders to have a family, work 9-5 and still volunteer and make it look easy. So, when I see another black female designer, I know we got this!

STACEY BOYNTON

Bio:

The Great Designer Stacey Boynton is a South Florida Native and graduate from USF with a master's degree in architecture. In her previous firm as a Senior Project Architect, she worked on various projects ranging from tenant improvement to restaurants. After stepping away from this position, Stacey is now focused on giving back to the community and reconnecting with her passion for architecture by co-chairing the Black Architects in the Making (BAM) Broward and building STUDIO-US [DESIGN] brand.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

I was first introduced to Architecture at Northeast High School. It was my teacher Mr. Lewis that brought out my natural talent and love for all things designs. He first saw in me what I couldn’t see in myself at the time and encouraged me.

What do you do?

Currently I am finishing up my exams to make my next move. I am not doing anything but that and giving back my time to the profession and community through Black Architects in the Making (BAM) and National Organization of Minority Architects.

What excites you in the work you do?

It excites when I can satisfy a client with my talent. When I can take their design problem and create something they love. It also excites me when I am working with BAM to be able to expose minority students and see them excited to learn my passion.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

My proudest moment to date is to see a project I worked on as the Lead Project Architect in real life. To finally see something that once lived in my head then put on paper and built does it for me.

Lead Project Architect

Featured Project Description:

This project was the renovation of the Main Lobby and Elevator Lobby for Radice Corporate Center in Fort Lauderdale. My role on this project was Lead Project Architect while working for Kravit Architectural. The images were selected to show before and after transformation of the space. The clients wanted to completely transform the space and wanted to make it more “light” and “airy”. Taking those terms into consideration, I wanted to make it feel more like South Florida modern.
