How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

My dad’s most memorable writing was a horror story at midnight at a train station. In his story, architecture was more of a character than a location. His words shaped my perspective of the built environment which inspired me to pursue architecture.

What do you do?

I design thoughtfully integrated places that represent the passion that each client views their space with. Beyond architecture, I volunteer as a Director of Communications at Hayahelps, a not-for-profit focused on infrastructure projects.

What excites you in the work you do?

Deep exploration of ideas excites me thoroughly. Factors such as a client’s culture, operations, and the surrounding community are all opportunities to be open minded and learn from human experience. I enjoy learning about new materials and technology.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

Travel inspires me professionally and challenges me to be humble. Being invited to participate in other cultures reveals diverse built spaces which can teach us about ourselves, our values, and little details we can incorporate into our daily practice.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

In every project, there is a moment of joy when a client expresses their gratitude or uses my work to improve their business operations. It shows a level of trust and relationship building which is essential in our practice.
