Bio:

Silvia, a great urban designer, has been pursuing her passion and interest in international masterplanning. She has been instrumental in  several award-winning masterplans for the practice. Working on our key Toronto projects, Silvia leads 2150 Lake Shore and Ookwemin Minising, both significant regeneration projects on Toronto’s waterfront. Her masterplan leadership has influenced the work of the practice globally.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

Cities are our passion and from a young age

 

What do you do?

I am an urban designer with a passion for international masterplanning. I lead major Toronto waterfront regenerations, 2150 Lake Shore and Ookwemin Minising, alongside key projects across Europe and the Middle East.

What excites you in the work you do?

I’m excited by high-density city-making and cross-city learning. I love bringing ambitious visions to life, leveraging AI innovation, and driving experiential design and placemaking to create resilient, inclusive communities globally.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

Learning new things from the incredible people I work with in every corner of the world is what inspires me. That global collaboration shapes how I approach resilient placemaking and design.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

I'm proudest of my work that empowers communities to grow such as Ookwemin Minising. Designing resilient places to shape inclusive neighbourhoods that people can proudly call home and happily grow in place for generations.

Featured Project Description:

Located on Toronto’s naturalized waterfront, Ookwemin Minising transforms an industrial precinct into a vibrant, mixed-use community. The master plan uses an "Open Block" structure, varying heights, centralizing density, and leaving gaps between buildings to ensure a sunlit, human-scaled streetscape. Framing a pedestrian-first public realm and informed by Indigenous engagement, this collaborative project will deliver thousands of homes, setting a global benchmark for resilient waterfront living.
