How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

I have been interested in the built environment since grade school. My love for architecture and design grew as I learned more in college and was solidified as I began practicing as an interior design professional after graduating.

As a Senior Project Designer in the Commercial Interiors Studio at GTM Architects, I am responsible for designing corporate office interiors, overseeing production of permit/construction drawings, and providing construction contract administration.

What excites you in the work you do?

The ability to be creative and problem-solve on a regular basis excites me. I also enjoy the collaboration with my team members and clients.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

This FedEx office project is one of my proudest accomplishments since it was my first project with a large enough budget to allow my creativity to shine and come to fruition. And my ability to retain a client long term and receive referrals makes me proud.

Featured Project Description:

This 10,000 SF office space in NW, DC is home to FedEx’s corporate attorneys so it was important to separate private and public spaces. The main objective was to provide a modern and sophisticated design with a ‘wow’ factor to impress FedEx's visiting clients. Another goal was to highlight the monumental views and natural light. The overall design aesthetic is mid-century modern, incorporating clean lines, modern lighting and a neutral color palette with warm wood tones throughout the space.
