SADBERK AGMA

Bio:

Sadberk holds a BArchSci from Toronto Metropolitan University, and is starting her MArch in Fall 2026. Sadberk is a great designer who loves to work across different mediums to highlight stories in living and working spaces. Her professional portfolio includes commercial and residential spaces designed under Form + Bang, a multidisciplinary design studio she co-founded in 2022 with Soma Khan. Sadberk is passionate about mentoring, public spaces, new technologies in construction and, sustainability in design.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

I spent my formative years immersed in the world of the built environment, with a structural engineer dad, but my interest in design was influenced by my mom who has an instinctive eye for design. It felt like a natural path for me to study architecture.

What do you do?

I design spaces that I hope serve people for many years to come. The act of creating is sacred and a privilege to me. When I’m not designing, I’m actively engaged on site or mentoring.

What excites you in the work you do?

I find excitement in seeing the progression of a project from start to finish, from the initial sketch to seeing it built. Seeing the reactions of those who we design for, to the finished spaces. The collaborative process, as much as the final work.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

My inspiration is drawn from the world around me, spanning from the natural environment to various multidisciplinary practices. I am constantly challenged to evolve and achieve more by the ever-changing and advancing nature of this field.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

As an emerging professional, every project that I am trusted with feels like an achievement. That, and obtaining a BCIN, and pursuing MArch to reach milestones in formalizing our practice.

Featured Project Description:

TA Turkish-Canadian pastry shop featuring both traditional delicacies and classic treats, Solmaz Patisserie’s second location was conceived as a 3,000 sqft flagship destination. This expanded space includes an on-site kitchen, extensive displays, and seating for 30+ guests. Drawing from traditional Ottoman architecture and classic colour palettes, the design aims to transport visitors by bringing a "piece" of home to the presentation of these opulent desserts.
