RICCARDY VOLCY

Bio:
The great designer, Riccardy Volcy started career in Pittsburgh working for Perkins Eastman Architects. After working for one of the top firms in the country I wanted to spend more time on construction sites so I transitioned to a Construction Management position with Massaro CM Services. Currently, I am working with the Pittsburgh office of Continental Building Company where we are building a number of buildings in the Pittsburgh region. When I am not on site you can find me #somwhereinpittsburgh with his camera.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
I grew up in Haiti while my dad was living in the US in search of greater opportunity for our family. As a result, my mother wore many hats & played the role of PM for our home. This was my introduction to the AEC industry.

What do you do?
I currently work as a Project Engineer with a focus on Building Information Modeling for multiple building types & project docs manager. The projects that I have worked on range from large office buildings, schools, hotels to senior living typologies

What excites you in the work you do?
Seeing a new bldg or renovation take shape on site & watching members of the community experience the space. I am excited about these transformations. Especially if the OAC relationship is an amiable one. It is makes for a successful project.
