Who or what inspires you professionally?

NCSU school of architecture faculty inspired me professionally.

Bio:

Qian Lin is Master of Architecture student at NC State University. The project was her design in Tall Building Design Studio.

 

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

I first learned about architecture in the first semester of our program and decided that built environment profession was an area of interest for me in the second semester.

What do you do?

I am an architecture student.

What excites you in the work you do?

I enjoyed the process of sharing our ideas with Professor Wayne and my classmates. When i improved our design, i felt excited.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

The Tall Building Design was nominated for AIA Triangle Scholarship in December 2020.

Role in Featured Project: 

Lin Whipkey and Qian Lin worked together on the design concept. Qian Lin focused on structures, 3D modeling, and renderings. Lin Whipkey concentrated on functions, plans, and diagrams.

 

Featured Project Description:

The city plan intends to address the housing crisis in the San Francisco Bay Area and provide people with a sustainable and diverse community. It is designed to provide 700,000 people with residential accommodations and job opportunities. Furthermore, the ideas of sustainability and diverse are shown in vegetation, buildings, and walkable designs. A person can walk from the city center to the most remote part of the city in 15 minutes.
