NEHA SEHGAL

SAY IT LOUD - Toronto
Toronto Based Designer

Who or what inspires you professionally?

I draw inspiration from film, photography, travel, emotion, architecture, and human behaviour. I am drawn to why a space, image, or story works. That curiosity shapes how I observe, think, and design.

NEHA SEHGAL

Bio:

Trained as a great architect in India, Neha Sehgal is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary designer and visual storyteller with nine years of collective experience across architecture and graphic design in India and Canada. Working at the intersection of these disciplines, her work translates buildings, memory, and place into layered narratives that offer new ways of seeing and experiencing the built environment.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

I became curious about architecture at 13 after visiting a friend’s architect-designed home. A triangular space made me question how form shapes use and experience. That curiosity shaped my education, cross-disciplinary work, and now visualization.

What do you do?

I am a multidisciplinary designer and visual storyteller with a background in architecture, working across environmental graphics, wayfinding, branding, and illustration to create narratives about how people experience place.

What excites you in the work you do?

I am excited by the moment a space or story finds its visual language when a layered idea becomes both legible and felt. I enjoy translating spaces and human experience into thoughtful, considered, and meaningful design.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

I draw inspiration from film, photography, travel, emotion, architecture, and human behaviour. I am drawn to why a space, image, or story works. That curiosity shapes how I observe, think, and design.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

I am proud of the path from architectural training in India to graphic design within the built environment in Canada, evolving across disciplines while communicating ideas about space through illustration and visual storytelling..

Ways of Seeing Architecture brings together three visual explorations across Udaipur, Toronto, and Delhi. Forts of the People (with Ravivar.i) reimagines forts as pandemic-safe performance spaces; an illustration of the OSSTF headquarters courtyard, designed by Moriyama Teshima Architects, explores light and landscape through mass timber; and a Studio PREFIX home reveals muted, layered domestic life. Together, they use architectural visualization to offer distinct ways of seeing architecture.
