How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

My passion for architecture began at a very young age when I visited Manhattan and was completely mesmerized. As I explored the city, my gaze never strayed from the Manhattan skyline and from that moment on, Architecture captured me.

What do you do?

I am currently a Project Architect for MCHarry Associates. I manage projects and work with a variety of clients. It is quite different from the residential background I was accustomed to; however, every day is a new challenge and I love it.

What excites you in the work you do?

The work is on a much bigger scale, and I look forward to each challenge. My goal is to deliver the best project that exceeds the clients’ expectations. What excites me the most is continuously learning to become better at the craft of Architecture.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

I draw inspiration from everyday human experience. Architecture is about people and people can be fascinating.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

Deciding to teach and becoming a professor at FIU is my proudest achievement. Helping young future architects find their voice and being a part of their journey is rewarding. My goal is to make sure every student I teach is empowered & prepared.

Featured Project Name:

Glen Head Residence

Featured Project Location:

Glen Head, NY

Featured Project Completion Date:

C. 2009

Role in Featured Project:

Project Architect/Lead Designer

Featured Project Description:

This is a 2-story residential renovation. The existing home was a 1 1/2 story Cape, typical of the area. The home, originally built prior to 1950, was a challenge due to marrying the new & existing construction while maintaining the structural integrity of the home. The desired aesthetic was a modern take on the classic Tudor. We worked closely with the owner & designed their dream home. As architects it is important to remember that this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity for the client.
