Maryam Mohajer is a great OAA-licensed Senior Architect, and Associate at MJMA with over 25 years of experience leading complex architectural projects. For the past 12 years, she has specialized in the planning and design of sport facilities and community centres across Ontario. How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
From an early age, I loved drawing and creating by hand. A high-school internship with an architect sparked my passion for the field and confirmed architecture as the perfect way to combine creativity with design.
What do you do?
I am a designer, problem solver, and mentor, passionate about creating places that bring people together. Through architecture and community development, I connect design excellence with the needs and aspirations of the communities we serve.
What excites you in the work you do?
One of the greatest rewards of architecture is seeing an idea evolve from a sketch into a place that serves and inspires people. Being part of that journey, while solving complex challenges through design, continues to excite me.
