Who or what inspires you professionally?

Driving through the city with my children and pointing to buildings my family has designed is humbling. The ability to physically see how our talents can transform communities and improves everyone’s quality of life is unique to Architecture.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

My grandfather was a brick mason, father and brother are Architects, so I was born into the profession. As a child, I would go on site visits with my father, get under those old church crawl spaces, take measurements, and help with presentations.

What do you do?

I have fun and find enjoyment in this profession. I practice Architecture with my father in our family-owned firm Moore Architecture. I run our Charlotte, NC office and manage our firm’s work in NC and SC.

What excites you in the work you do?

Seeing the client’s smile as their dreams are realized through the design process and ultimate construction is a very rewarding experience. I find joy in their joy, to take something as fragile as an idea, and make it tangibly concrete is amazing.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

Driving through the city with my children and pointing to buildings my family has designed is humbling. The ability to physically see how our talents can transform communities and improves everyone’s quality of life is unique to Architecture.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

Running a business with my family is very rewarding, challenging, and fulfilling. The work-life balance can be achieved in our profession with honest communication by determining what really matters in life. Establishing your legacy through design.
