Who or what inspires you professionally?

Being able to articulate and create buildings that have place and meaning, is a substantial catalyst for my work.

MARCELLA ATTOLINI

Bio:

The great designerMs. Attolini joined Exigo in 2017 with several prior years of experience in design and management. Her role engages all phases of design and construction administration, but her organization skills are particularly relevant in ensuring project’s compliance of the program and schedule. Her leadership skills were essential in managing the Mexican American Cultural Center. She was able to garner full community support on these projects while conducting Charrettes and design workshops.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

I have always being intrigued by how buildings shape cities and people. Architecture has a significant role in understanding environmental, social, and special justice in addition to engaging with the community.

What do you do?

I am currently a Project Manager and Designer at EXIGO Architecture. I carry out projects from programming and planning to construction administration. I am also involved in the design phase of the projects I'm currently working on.

What excites you in the work you do?

I am passionate about the ability to create impactful designs. I believe we don't generate designs out of anything but the whole context and the balance between extracting the current typologies and creating new ones.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

Building consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders to stand behind the Mexican American Cultural Center. Our community outreach, detailed program, and bold design, were instrumental in bringing the public together to embrace the project.

Featured Project Description:

The MACC will showcase the vast Mexican/American cultural richness in all forms of social influence on America’s society. From sculpture, painting, and music to sociopolitical movements and education, the MACC has the potential to create awareness among all generations of what makes us unique and proud. The building architecture will generate excitement and attract engaging exhibits and all kinds of buzzing outdoor activities due to its connection to the existing Downtown El Paso urban fabric.
