MAGGIE WYLIE
Bio:
The great designer, Maggie earned a Bachelors in Architecture from the University of Arizona in 2009 and subsequently moved to Austin. After almost six years in design-build and construction project management, Maggie launched Point B with a mission to deliver an enjoyable, streamlined client experience by pursuing an effective synergy between design and construction. She seeks design solutions that are founded on candid conversations about the realities of budget, the construction process and client requirements.
How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
I was raised by a ceramic artist and engineer and was exposed to architecture by my great Uncle who trained under Barry Byrne. I knew I wanted to be an architect when I was 14 and cannot imagine a more perfect fit for how my brain operates.
What do you do?
I am the Principal Architect and Owner/Founder of Point B Design Group. Daily I wear many hats and love every minute of it. I drive business, foster relationships, develop designs and manipulate space, and support my staff with high level input.
What excites you in the work you do?
Every project is unique! I love the puzzle associated with every project whether its code, program or client. I love being able to bring a client's vision into reality - big or small - and the intimate relationship that I develop with each client.

Featured Project Description:
The home is designed for the Client’s parents' requirements, which included disguised safety for one parent with late stage Alzheimer's. The design consists of a series of volumes attached by glass enclosures or breezeways, allowing a future addition to integrate in a similar fashion, seamlessly into the main structure. All doors except the front open to the back, allowing the Alzheimer’s patient to go through and “leave” the house while remaining in a safe place without feeling confined.
