She worked for a leading architecture design firm where she had the opportunity to work on a variety of project types. How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

As a young child, I was intrigued by construction sites whenever we drove by one. In high school, I enjoyed art, math, and geometry class, and had an older female cousin that studied Architecture in Mexico. That made me realize I could do it too.

What do you do?

As a mother of two, I do my best to maintain a work-life balance by setting realistic schedules and boundaries. Communicating my needs, focus on health, and outdoor activities help increase job engagement and enrich my family relationships.

What excites you in the work you do? Who or what inspires you professionally?

The fact that I can contribute to society and make a positive impact on our community by enriching the lives of others with our ideas and design solutions.

Who or what inspires you professionally? What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

Any ordinary individual that is able to make a difference by demonstrating leadership qualities such as integrity, accountability, empathy and most importantly respects others and their ideas.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

Attaining my Architectural License in the State of Texas was the most challenging commitment I set myself to accomplish. This led to my newest, proudest achievement, which is serving on the AIA El Paso Executive Committee.
