LEANN SHELTON

Bio:

The great architect, LeAnn Shelton is General Counsel and Director of Business Affairs for Rockwell Group,

a multi-disciplinary design firm with offices in New York City, Madrid, and Shanghai. She is a licensed architect and attorney with over twenty-five years’ experience. She advises the firm on a wide range of matters, including entertainment, intellectual property, land use, product licensing, product liability, and construction law.  Her work also encompasses marketing and strategic development for large-scale redevelopment projects. Recent projects include The Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Hudson Yards Culture Shed and Tower D, and the Illuminated Bridge Design Competition in London, England. Prior to joining Rockwell Group, Ms. Shelton was an Associate Partner at Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn (now Perkins Eastman/EEK) and at Davis Brody Bond, where she focused on large-scale master planning and cultural development.

Her projects included the Yonkers Downtown Waterfront, the Newark – Passaic River Redevelopment Plan, Pratt Institute 14th Street campus, the Stamford and Orange County Courthouses, and a Strategic  Redevelopment plan for the Coney Island amusement district.

 

Ms. Shelton is actively involved in several public design and professional organizations. She is the Chair of the Arts and Museum Division of the ABA Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries, President of the Associates of the Art Commission, and a public member of the New York City Loft Board. She is a former Director of Legislative Affairs of the AIA New York Chapter Board of Directors, and served as the Architect Member of the Public Design Commission of the City of New York.

 

Ms. Shelton has served on design juries and been a guest lecturer at several institutions, including Columbia University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Yale University, Parsons School of Design, and Pratt Institute, and has spoken on public art, urban design and land use law at the AIA, the American Bar Association, and the NYC Department of Design & Construction. Ms. Shelton holds degrees from Amherst College, Columbia University Law School, and Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.
