Florida Based Designer

Who or what inspires you professionally?

I am inspired by the female leadership at DLR. Though many are in different offices or higher roles, I've always felt they are on my level and are always willing to give advice or lend an ear. Seeing successful women in the AEC industry is exciting.

KARLI KRONMILLER

Bio:

The Great Designer Karli Kronmiller is a registered Interior Designer in the State of Florida. Her passion for design grew into a passion for sustainability and she now holds several certifications including LEED AP ID+C, WELL AP, LFA, GGP and FitWel. Along with her expertise in interior design, construction, and quick-turnaround TI projects, Karli has begun to master the world of healthy materials and verified materials transparency. Her designs are very intentional with health and wellbeing in mind.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

I have had a passion for design since I was young, building model houses with my grandfather and exploring flooring with my subcontractor father. That passion grew as I pursued my degree at Drexel University and new passion, Sustainability, began.

What do you do?

In my role at DLR, I engage with clients from programming through project completion to create beautiful, inspiring, safe and sustainable spaces. As a Project Manager, I ensure our teams have all the tools needed to stay on schedule and budget.

What excites you in the work you do?

I love an interior renovation. I love the field verification, the surprises uncovered during demo, and the endless puzzles that are space plans in an existing shell. I also love the sustainability aspect of building-reuse.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

Most recently, I was promoted to the Associate level at DLR Group. Hearing the impact I have had on my clients and peers that led to that elevation really made me realize how grateful I am to have so many opportunities in this unique career path.
