SAY IT LOUD - Nevada Exhibitor

Nevada Based Designer

Who or what inspires you professionally?

Traveling to different countries and immersing myself into different built and natural environments, and learning how different people see things different ways; this is what has always inspired me to be an architect.

Julia Ann Molloy Gallagher

Bio:

The Great designer, Julia Gallagher specialize in curating engagement between governments, organizations, designers, and individuals to improve people’s experience in the places they visit, they live, and they love. We focus on cultural, sustainable, and transformative environments that interface between historic spaces and the transient communities who create them.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

My college friend’s dad was an architect. I didn’t know what I wanted to be, but I was good at and enjoyed math and art, and he recommended I work with his dad one summer....and there you have it!

What do you do?

After working for many design firms in NYC, I now have my own practice, specializing in residential and cultural work in New York and California. I also teach design studios at Columbia University, Parsons School of Design, and NYIT.

What excites you in the work you do?

I love the diverse projects I get to work on. When I am board, I just jump to another project, and it keeps me going!

Who or what inspires you professionally?

Traveling to different countries and immersing myself into different built and natural environments, and learning how different people see things different ways; this is what has always inspired me to be an architect.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

I worked for the Guggenheim in Abu Dhabi for 3 years. Having the opportunity to work along side the worlds best curators, artists, engineers, and architects, is an experience I will never forget.
