SAY IT LOUD - North Carolina Exhibitor

North Carolina Based Designer

Who or what inspires you professionally?

I am inspired by every architect I learned about in school- people who inspired innovation and communicated to the world through their passion. They designed and shared their work universally and set their own limits - and so can I.

JESSICA LAMBERT

Bio:

The Great designer, Jessica Lambert was born and raised in Lima, Peru, and creating spaces has been my passion since I was child. Although it was seen as play at the time, it developed my interest in studying architecture. By my first design studio in the university, I knew this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I earned my Bachelor of Architecture in 2014 and moved to the US, and I earned a Master of Architecture in 2017. I worked for a small firm in San Diego for two years before moving to Raleigh, NC in 2019.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

I learned about architecture in high school, but from a very young age I created spaces within my playing time. I realized that if I could create spaces with different objects in my house complemented by my imagination that I was on to something.

What do you do?

I am an emerging professional in LS3P working with the healthcare team developing projects such as MOBs and Behavioral Health Centers.

What excites you in the work you do?

I am excited to create spaces that evokes sensations and communicates meaning through the design elements. I constantly imagine myself in the space and consider how we should experience the space. I also enjoy learning something new every day.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

I am inspired by every architect I learned about in school- people who inspired innovation and communicated to the world through their passion. They designed and shared their work universally and set their own limits - and so can I.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

My proudest professional accomplishment has been moving to Raleigh and joining my first-choice architecture firm, LS3P

Featured Project Location:

San Diego, California

Featured Project Completion Date:

No completion date, school project

Role in Featured Project:

Architectural Designer

Featured Project Description:

This design for an architecture school expansion focused on the flow of activity within to create a light-filled space for students and staff. An atrium with monumental stairs serves as a connecting point between buildings, and a new skin creates an updated image for the school while controlling light on the west side of the building. As a student in the school, my experience in the spaces provided me information on student circulation, programming needs, space needs, and required adjacencies.
