JEREMIAH BROWN

Bio:

The great designer, Jeremiah Brown and I am fourth year architecture student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, I knew i had to get out the state to truly grow and reach my potential within my career. After visiting many schools and campuses, I knew that there was no place like Nebraska. It was the perfect fit for me and I have truly enjoyed the journey thus far. I am Currently in the Post studio which is focusing on bettering the environment through design.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

All my life i have had a passion for drawing or designing, but it wasn’t until my senior of high school that i truly knew that my passion was designing buildings. After taking a course in high school, i knew it was my passion to design spaces.

What do you do?

I currently am in my fourth year of the architecture program. while I am not in school I spend my time interning with different firms, or working on my own personal projects. After graduation I plan to work towards my masters degree.

What excites you in the work you do?

What excites me is that through design, it plays a critical role when it comes to shaping experiences in our lives. This is done particularly through the spaces we inhabit. Spaces allow us to sustain memories in many aspects of our lives.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

My mother inspires me. All my life my mother has worked tirelessly to make sure that she could give me a great life, and she has had to make many sacrifices to ensure I live a great life. In my profession, I plan to help other peoples lives.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

My proudest achievement professionally would be the completion of a parking lot I configured for WSKF Architects in 2018. A client acquired an event space and needed adequate parking for the space, so it was up to me to design the parking lot.

Featured Project Description:

As a SDA, myself, I feel as if it my duty to share to others about my religion and the beauty of it, because there are many people who are not aware of it. Therefore, I believed that designing this museum would create many opportunities for others to learn about the religion. With this museum, my goal would be for it to reach many communities, and for it to welcome many of those who have either never knew about it or heard of the religion.
