Who or what inspires you professionally?

Growing up multi-national and in many places, my three cultures inspire me to connect to the places I live in, and yearn to provide more opportunities for newcomers and long time residents to feel connected to the places they live.

Bio:
The great designer, Jennifer greig is graduating with her Bachelors of Architecture from North Carolina State University this upcoming summer, Jennifer Greig is excited to pursue the idea of design access in her community. In her spare time, she can be found in community service work and ride her bike through the City of Raleigh.
How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
Flipping through a TIME Magazine in 2013, I stumbled upon an article from Rural Studio building a home for $20,000. It stuck with me and made me realize the impact of thoughtful design.

What do you do?
I am in my last semester of Architecture School at NC State.

What excites you in the work you do?
The positive impact spaces can have on people, from a small residential to the larger city scale. Also, the potential for architecture to allow a person to feel a part of their community.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?
Finishing up my degree, and fundraising $125,000 with a team of 24 for the affordable housing cause through Bike and Build.

Featured Project Description:
In a world where people are becoming more skeptical of the truth behind the media, the Raleigh Media Center is focused around public transparency to their media productions. The lobby’s central viewing platform allows the public to witness the activity happening in the building. The outside apertures invite views into the Studios, and a rooftop outdoor theater invites the public for movie screenings with views towards downtown Raleigh.
