How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

National Museum of African American Music

Featured Project Location:

Nashville, Tennessee

Featured Project Completion Date:

June 2021

Role in Featured Project:

Project Architect and Architectural Designer

Featured Project Description:

The concept was to create a music museum that focused on the impact of AA music on the nation and the world. The exterior design challenge was to create a cultural icon with a strong sense of identity within the context of a controlled urban setting. The exterior material needed to reflect the colors, hues and richness of the Serengeti region of Africa., being dynamic and subtlety changing as sunlight and clouds do, much like American Music is shaped by socio-economic influences of the time.
