Who or what inspires you professionally?

I'm inspired by my peers and everyone who has come before me and the works that they have created but I'm also inspired by myself, from where I started to, where I am now and the potential of where I am headed in the future.

EDGAR CARDENAS

Bio:

Edgar Cardenas, current designer and future Architect for Calpo Hom & Dong Architects has worked on numerous projects from his early beginnings designing residential plans for contractors to the commercial buildings he has the pleasure of working on presently. He is a graduate of the ASU Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. He looks forward to where the future and innovation of design leads to.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

My father was a contractor so I was able to learn about the building process from a young age but it was the creativity I developed from playing with LEGO that helped further the design process and sent me along the path I'm currently on.

What do you do?

I am a designer and a Job Captain here at Calpo Hom & Dong Architects, currently in the process studying for my ARE's.

What excites you in the work you do?

I enjoy seeing the finished product come together and see its users embracing the space, but I also enjoy the problem solving of a project and the moment of realization when you figure out the solution that has been escaping your mind.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

I'm inspired by my peers and everyone who has come before me and the works that they have created but I'm also inspired by myself, from where I started to, where I am now and the potential of where I am headed in the future.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

I am proud of all the work that I have done so far but just being a part of this industry is my greatest accomplishment but once I pass my exams and achieve licensure that will be my next proudest professional accomplishment.
