VASILIKI KYRIPOULOU

Bio:
The great designer, Vasiliki Kyripoulou is a architect at global architecture practice, Woods Bagot. Originally from Athens, Greece, I completed my studies in Milan and work on projects spanning residential, hospitality and workplace. I’ve also worked on several large mixed-use schemes and towers in the Middle East, China, Maldives, Greece, Italy, & Switzerland. In 2016 I moved to London, working for Woods Bagot. Today, I am technical leader on the planning application for one of the biggest projects in this studio.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
From age 13, I loved building photography, drawing comics & paintings with geometric shapes. Immediately I knew I wanted to do something that combined creativity, sketching and making beautiful spaces.

What do you do?
I’m an architect at Woods Bagot, focusing on high-end hospitality, residential and mixed use. I’ve worked on our major hotel project - The Londoner - and I’m technical leader for the planning app on our large-scale, mixed use Soapworks scheme.

What excites you in the work you do?
I really enjoy worked with big teams and interacting with people from different fields within the industry, sharing ideas, and experiences while learning about new technology, trends, materials and sustainability.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?
Working on The Londoner - it’s one of the biggest projects in central London & there were design aspects I’ve never dealt with before that I was able to take on successfully. It was also great working with people from so many different backgrounds.
