Ohio Based Designer

Who or what inspires you professionally?

The ability to see designs come to life has been the most inspiring and humbling all together. Having someone enjoy an environment I imagined is entirely gratifying and humbling experience, and I strive to create more moments for others to enjoy.

AUBREY FLORES

Bio:
The great designer, Aubrey a strong background in design and bring an array of capabilities as the BIM Director and Document Lead in progressing quality and design ideas. I am essential in a variety of project types from higher education to retail and commercial spaces at my company. I am responsible to lead my projects from schematic through construction administration, and also to oversee all other office projects for managing the quality and utilization of the digital model and drawings.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
I’ve always felt architecture in my life, even as a young child I was constantly creating new environments and spaces. I’ve found myself not just wanting to create a place for others to dwell, but a place for all people to experience design.

What do you do?
I create and execute designs as Design and Document Lead, and I’m able to manage others as the BIM Director. A good designer is being able to lead and carry out all aspects of the project, which I am able to do every day.

What excites you in the work you do?
One of the best things about my role as a leader and director is the ability to teach others while creating new environments. I love that I have the availability to not only design, but to help others flourish in heir own projects and capabilities.

Who or what inspires you professionally?
The ability to see designs come to life has been the most inspiring and humbling all together. Having someone enjoy an environment I imagined is entirely gratifying and humbling experience, and I strive to create more moments for others to enjoy.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?
Earning the title of Director has been my greatest accomplishment to date. I was able to earn the trust of my respected superiors, and now have the ability to oversee and teach, which has been unexpected but extremely rewarding.

Featured Project Name:
AC Louisville Hotel

Featured Project Location:
Louisville, Kentucky

Featured Project Completion Date:
2018

Role in Featured Project:
Design & Document Architectural Lead, BIM Manager

Featured Project Description:
Challenged to develop a boutique hotel for the district of Nulu, Louisville, Ky, we decided to use the urban surroundings to our advantage. We created a double height space within the lobby to view the city in every angle, reminiscent of the large-scale bourbon facilities. The building’s use of copper and metal are a nod to the historic culture, and the basis for the design throughout the public space, exterior, and guest rooms, for the city’s richness to shine through.
