Who or what inspires you professionally?

Travel. It can be anything from the pattern of a landscape’s shapes and shadows as seen out of an airplane window to seeing a city in Europe for the first time. It always leaves me feeling inspired.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
For as long as I can remember it’s been a part of who I am: building with Legos, my dad’s erector set, drawing plans and being in awe of Chicago’s skyline during school field trips. I have always loved architecture, so it seemed a natural choice.

What do you do?
At this point in my career, project management, so a lot of budget spreadsheets, code analysis, project schedules, and coordination between our team internally, and with our consultants, contractors, and the owner’s representatives.

What excites you in the work you do?
I have always been a problem solver, so I love helping to figure out solutions to a client’s vision. What excites me is being a part of such a creative, energetic team of professionals, and seeing what they will think of next!
