Who or what inspires you professionally?
Dan Woodfin, a lifelong mentor. He encourages me to seek & find beauty in all the hidden ways and in ordinary places. Megan Wall, Katie Potts, & Ana Lapinski who are wonderful friends, peers, female architects & mothers. My children: Max & Kathryn.

Bio:
I am an architect at TowerPinkster. After completing my bachelors degree at Ball State, I became a pioneering member of KCAD’s first graduating cohort of their M. Arch program. My work was foundational for the program's accreditation and continued impact in the design community of West Michigan. The key piece that drives my practice is people - those I serve and work alongside. I am energized by a mission to make important, lasting impacts to the built environment as well as people's lives.
How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
I grew up with two architects as close family friends who introduced me to the industry. I concluded in the 6th grade that architecture might provide the perfect blend of using my talents in math and science along with art and creativity.
What do you do?
I am a licensed architect who collaboratively leads projects through their more technical stages of design development through the construction process.
What excites you in the work you do?
Beauty within the details. In higher design projects, elevated design expectations can’t be realized without the thoughtful integration of systems through thorough detailing. I enjoy blending system requirements together beautifully through details.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?
Achieving licensure. It was 20 years between initially deciding to pursue architecture and passing my last licensing exam, with many challenges, joys, and accomplishments in between. The road was arduous but makes the achievement all the sweeter.

Project Architect - one of three female architects charged with executing the technical documentation of design through construction documents.
Featured Project Description:
The project goals for the Grand Rapids Public Museum are: Accessibility, Connectivity, Education, and the city of Grand Rapids. The design improves accessibility & use of the Grand River, builds additional educational spaces, enhances sustainability measures, and provides digital infrastructure. Renovations to the main floor Galleria & entrances provide new connective experiences with Grand Rapids food & science culture, free access to the main floor exhibits, and reflects a global culture.
