Bio:
The Great designer, Ambrose Jackson was born in St. Joseph, Missouri in 1926. H served in the Army from 1944 to 1946 and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1958. In 1965, he started his own company in his basement, which became known as Ambrose Jackson Associates Inc. - which is believed to be the first firm owned by an African American in Nebraska.

Featured Project Description:
Ambrose Jacksons’ work in Omaha is diverse, ranging from the 60-apartment St. James Manor (Which was the first federal insured apartment developed in the country designed by a black-owned firm), the Omaha Housing Authority Headquarters in downtown Omaha, the Blue Lion Center, the Fort Street Church of Christ, the Ames Station U.S. Post Office, the Harry A Koch Trap and Skeet Range and the Martin Luther King Center.
