Who or what inspires you professionally?

All of the obstacles I overcame to get to this point. I feel I have an obligation to be better every year. I believe I’m in a unique position to help as many young aspiring black architects as I possibly can. I take that responsibility seriously.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

When I was a sophomore in high school. A black graduate student from Florida A&M University came and spoke to my drafting class about architecture and I knew right away that’s what I want- ed to do.

What do you do?

I’m the owner of a small firm in South Florida. We specialize in a range of project types includ- ing commercial interior build outs, single family residential and retail. In addition, we also provide construction management services.

What excites you in the work you do?

Being able to make my Client’s vision a reality. Often, as creatives, sometimes we assume others can see what we can, because its so clear to us. So I appreciate the ability to transform concepts to tangible creations.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

All of the obstacles I overcame to get to this point. I feel I have an obligation to be better every year. I believe I’m in a unique position to help as many young aspiring black architects as I possibly can. I take that responsibility seriously.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

Without a doubt becoming a licensed architect. The path was difficult but I knew the importance of being included in the numbers. So I persevered. One of my goals is to inspire and directly assist as many future black architects as possible.
